ABC Life Literacy Canada creates practical learning resources and works with organizations across the country to help adult learners build the skills and confidence they need. Your support goes directly towards helping us provide adult literacy organizations with the resources they need to help adults improve their literacy skills.

Examples of literacy in action
Building financial confidence for low-income seniors
Sunshine Centres for Seniors is a non-profit organization providing social, recreational and health promotion day programs for older adults across the Greater Toronto Area. They recently expanded their offerings to include financial literacy and hosted a Money Matters workshop for seniors living in community housing.
Supporting digital confidence for newcomers in Edmonton
Since 1976, the Edmonton Immigrant Services Association (EISA) has helped immigrants, refugees and first-generation Canadians build their lives in a new country. They recently ran the Protecting Your Information Online workshop from ABC Connect for Learning after acknowledging that more services are moving online.
Women gain confidence skills to work in skilled trades industry
The Office to Advance Women Apprentices was established in 2009 with a mandate of increasing employment opportunities for women in the skilled trades. They ran an UP Skills for Work workshop to help women improve their confidence – a skill that comes in handy when you’re working in an industry where you’re underrepresented.
