The Top 10 of 2010-2011

We recently had our Annual General Meeting, where we celebrated our top 10 achievements of the 2010/2011 fiscal year. We accomplished a lot in one year, including the exploration of financial literacy. What was our number one achievement? Read on to find out!

10. We created a new, online searchable database for our LEARN program, and a new advertising and poster campaign to support it.

9. We deepened our stakeholder engagement with two new board members and the creation of the new Programs and Resources Committee.

8. We created a new partnership with Literacy Alberta to promote government support for workplace literacy and essential skills in Alberta.

7. Another great Family Literacy Day!

6. We launched the first Essential Skills Day in partnership with the Canadian Society of Training and Development.

5. We welcomed Lesra Martin as our inaugural Life Literacy Ambassador.

4. Funding: We signed a three-year agreement with HRSDC and brought in new partnerships with TD Bank Group, HSBC, Great-West Life, Raise-A-Reader and more.

3. We launched Good Reads and we have a number one Canadian bestseller: Easy Money.

2. We received funding for and launched new financial literacy programs: Money Matters and Financial Literacy Week!
