  • The Picture of Nobody

Good book; the ending is not what you would expect. I would have like to known what Tommy had written on the internet.

  • Home Invasion

A scary topic. Just look at the cover. But after seeing her on CanadaAM I gave it a shot. Totally worth it.

  • Shipwreck

This is cool that people are able to find books they are comfortable reading. This opens new doors for my students.

  • In From the Cold

Our class enjoyed reading the book. It provided us with opportunities to learn about important social issues within our community, as well as a moving story.

  • Missing

War is never easy to read about but when you read this story and feel the human side of the relationships forged during a difficult time it reminds you of the goodness in each of us. Touching story that made me want to learn more about the men (and now women) that stand up for their countries in difficult times.

  • The Day the Rebels Came to Town

Talk about different. Colourful descriptions that transported me to a dry windy Mexican city. Oh, and the ending is quite magical. This book surprised me.

  • Picture This

I don't understand art but this book made me think it was kinda cool. A fast-paced mystery that kept me guessing. Maybe I'll visit an art gallery now...see if I can spot the fakes.

  • New Year's Eve

Talk about setting a scene. I felt like I was in the middle of the Alberta snow storm as I was reading the pages...and when they jumped into the hot tub I wished I could have been there. A true page turner.

  • The Hangman

William Swallow’s review of The Hangman by Louise Penny. William is a student at the Yamaska Literacy Council.

The Hangman by Louise Penny is a mystery set in the town of Three Pines. A dead man is found hanging from a tree. They think it’s a suicide. But it’s murder. They don’t find the culprits, a man and a woman, until the end. I loved everything about this book. I liked the way Chief Inspector Gamache investigated the crime. It would be good if they made this into a movie or a play. One man ends up being killed by his own hate. It would have been better form him if he’d been able to forgive and forget.

  • Easy Money

I learned a lot! Thanks, Gail!

  • The Stalker

Great book! Would never have guessed who the killer was...

  • Home Invasion

Thought it would be worth it to give it a shot. I was right.

  • New Year's Eve

It's wonderful to have Marina as one of the authors. She's a great writer.

  • The Picture of Nobody

I thought reading this would be so difficult but it was a breeze!

  • Easy Money

This makes everything so completely painless.

  • Easy Money

I'm impressed! You've managed the almost impossible. I understand my finances just a little better.

  • The Stalker

Could not put this book down. Incredible mystery and suspense.

  • In From the Cold

A very touching story. Made me cry and smile all at the same time.

  • The Picture of Nobody

Tough story but so real. Took me a few days to read.

  • The Stalker

If you like suspense, this book is for you. I gave it to a co-worker to read and now it is moving on to others in the office.

  • The Hangman

After reading the story I felt like I had visited the small town. The descriptions are colourful.

  • In From the Cold

I could not put the book down once I started. Easy to read even with tough storyline.

  • Easy Money

Easy to read book that really helped me adopt a few simple steps to better handle my money. Plan to share it with my children as well.

  • Shipwreck

I can't wait to receive "Shipwreck." Another one of Maureen's amazing books. I have read as many of her books that I can get my hands on. I love them all.

  • Shipwreck

    I love this book!
