All proceeds from Gutenberg Media Grab online sale support literacy

Toronto, ON – April 16, 2009 – ABC CANADA Literacy Foundation is pleased to announce that the ninth annual Gutenberg Media Grab will begin on Monday, May 11, 2009. This online sale of premium ad space in leading magazines, newspapers, outdoor, and now digital media, offers all inventory at 65% off the rate card value.

"What makes our sale unique is that it is a media sale, not an auction,” explains Rina Khosla, Director of Marketing and Partnerships at ABC CANADA Literacy Foundation. “You just have to be the first one to grab the ad space!”

Already this year, several leading media outlets – including Chatelaine; Canadian Business; Vancouver Sun; Ottawa Citizen; Astral Media and Eco-Media Direct – have donated ad space to the Grab. It is even easier for media donors to donate space and for ad buyers to register to buy space as registration is now available online at http://abc-canada.org/gmg.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of our media partners who have donated the space available for sale through the Gutenberg Media Grab,” says Margaret Eaton, President ABC CANADA. “Offering people a chance to buy major media at a fraction of its usual price is a great opportunity for buyers at any time, but especially right now in this time of economic uncertainty.”

All proceeds from the sale go to ABC CANADA in support of its initiatives to raise awareness of low literacy among Canadian adults; direct individuals to literacy organizations in their community; and provide resources that support and encourage the development of workplace and essential skills training across Canada.
