Tournament Date: August 18 - 19, 2010

Members of the PGI NB 2007 organizing committee and major sponsors present a cheque to the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick. The amount would later be adjusted to $162,000.
This year’s version of the Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournament for Literacy promises to be another success in 2009. Our commitment to providing excellent event experiences to our participants remains strong.
On Wednesday, August 19th we will host the community, our sponsors and the general public with three events. Our fifth consecutive Family Festival for Literacy kicks things off and is all about literacy and fun. Hair braiding, face painting, literacy contest winners, our poet laureate Sheree Fitch and singing and dancing performances by New Brunswick youth groups highlight this three-hour festival.
Later that evening, our VIP Sponsor Reception takes place on stage at the Capitol Theatre featuring food and beverage supplied by the Delta Beauséjour. This one-hour reception allows our sponsors the opportunity to get together and discuss literacy initiatives as well as the pending round of golf the next day.
After the reception, the general public join our sponsors for an evening of comedy, dance and a celebration of Peter Gzowski and literacy at Eveningside – In the Tradition of Peter Gzowski that includes the recognition of our Goguen Champlain Insurance Learner award winners.
The next morning golf day kicks off with breakfast and a literacy presentation by one of New Brunswick’s literacy learners. This is followed by our “skydiver” start and 180 golfers teeing it up for literacy at Royal Oaks Golf Course. Our 19th hole will feature Mussels, Molson, Models and Mercedes this year – a great way to lead into the banquet of steak and lobster NB style! The event will conclude with the fabulous Sheree Fitch delivering the poem of the day.
