
The Peter Gzowski Life Literacy Fellowship was developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada in honour of the late broadcaster and journalist Peter Gzowski. The fellowship provides a $2,000 grant for a Canadian journalist to undertake and publish a literacy project to enhance public understanding, support for, and awareness of, the literacy cause.

The Dr. Alan Middleton Workplace Literacy and Learning Award recognizes an individual for their outstanding achievement in increasing workplace literacy and essential skills in their community. The honour was established to recognize the outstanding contribution of ABC Life Literacy Canada board member, Dr. Alan Middleton.

The Honourable Joyce Fairbairn, P.C. Literacy Public Awareness Award (The Joycee) was established in 1996 in honour of Senator Joyce Fairbairn, a long-standing champion of the literacy cause in Canada. The award recognizes Canadian corporations’ exceptional contributions in support of literacy. The winner of the 2010 Joycee Award will be announced in October 2010.
