Natrel and ABC partner to help new parents

Toronto, ON (January 21, 2013) – ABC Life Literacy Canada is pleased to announce a new partnership with Agropur Division Natrel to support family literacy across Canada. The partnership will include the creation and distribution of Family Literacy Resources for New Parents.

Through this collaboration, Agropur Division Natrel and ABC will help enable new parents to begin a journey of learning with their children, while also keeping their own literacy skills sharp. By providing essential tools, activities, learning resources for parents and easy to implement strategies, families will learn and grow together.

“We are delighted to welcome our new corporate partner Agropur Division Natrel and thank them for their commitment to supporting families across Canada,” said Anthony Alfred, Interim President of ABC Life Literacy Canada. “The more that parents can encourage literacy and learning in the home, it will positively affect the skills of their children and can also improve their own skills – a win-win for literacy in Canada.”

10,000 copies of the Family Literacy Resources for New Parents will be distributed in print in early 2013 to learning and early literacy centres throughout Ontario. The resources will also be available online.

“We are proud to support adult learners and their families by providing resources that will enable parents and children alike,” said Karen Poncelet, Director of Marketing, Agropur Division Natrel. “We are confident this initiative will make a difference in the lives of Canadian families by providing tools for success in literacy and in learning.”

Following the Ontario pilot program, Family Literacy Resources for New Parents will be made available to families and learning centres in British Columbia and Quebec. Visit www.FamilyLiteracyFun.ca for more information.
